Cheshire Library offers free streaming access to Kanopy

Starting on September 1st, stream beloved content for free with your library card on Kanopy!

Cheshire Library is excited to announce that patrons now have access to Kanopy! Kanopy is a free, on-demand video streaming service. Instead of paying for a subscription, users log in using their library card to stream thousands of high-quality movies, TV shows, documentaries, and more anytime, anywhere. Kanopy is available on Apple TV, Roku, Fire TV, Android TV as well as mobile devices and tablets, and desktop/laptop browsers.

Kanopy offers a diverse and thoughtfully curated collection of titles, designed to engage, educate, and entertain, from suppliers such as BBC, The Criterion Collection, NEON, Samuel Goldwyn Films, HISTORY, A&E, The Great Courses, Kino Lorber, A24, and IFC Films and many more.

Included in Kanopy’s extensive collection is Kanopy Kids, a dedicated section with ad-free, educational, and age-appropriate programming for children, including animated stories, early learning content, STEM videos, and literary adaptations.

Kanopy offers a ticket-based system, which allows patrons to stream a select number of titles each month. Movies and TV shows are available at varying ticket levels.
