The Cheshire Public Library has established the following Circulation guidelines. These guidelines help
ensure quality customer service and enable the library
to practice non-discriminatory procedures, protect the
privacy of patrons, and provide protection from misuse of patron cards by unauthorized persons.
- You must possess a current, valid library card to check out library materials, or to have staff look up your account.
- If you are an out-of-town patron, you must have a current, valid library card from your hometown Connecticut library.
- By state law, staff cannot look up other patron accounts or other family members’ accounts, unless it is for a minor child.
- You can look up your own account at www.cheshirelibrary.org.
- There are no age restrictions for borrowing any library materials.
- Museum passes and 7 day items (videos, DVDs, FastTrack books) cannot be reserved.
- Phone renewal is available by calling 203-272-2245. Please have ready your library card or the item(s) to be renewed.
- Online renewal is available at www.cheshirelibrary.org.
- Holds can be placed in person, by phone, or online.
- Overdue fines are determined by the Cheshire Town Council and are set by town ordinance.
- Videocassettes and DVDs are a browsing collection, available on a first come, first served basis. You are free to select from those titles currently available when you come into the library.
- Both hot and cold weather ruin audiovisual
materials (tapes, CDs, etc.), so please don’t
leave them in your car.
