Homebound Library is a program initiated by the Cheshire Library to develop contacts with homebound members of the community and to provide them with library materials on a regular basis. Temporary arrangements can also be made if needed.
This is the way it works: The library provides an introductory letter and questionnaire. A library card is provided to those who do not have one, and the card is kept at the library. Requests can be called in to the library by phone. When the materials requested have been gathered, arrangements to deliver them are made. A call to the library is all that is necessary to arrange for the return of the materials. Books of all kinds are available including large print and audio books (both audio cassette and CD).
Cheshire Library—in service to the whole community! Please call at 272-2245. Library hours are 9:30am to 9:00pm Monday through Thursday and 9:30am to 5:00pm Friday and Saturday. Contact Noureen Hakim for Homebound Services. If she’s not in, simply leave a message and your call will be returned as soon as possible.
Can you or someone you know benefit from this service? Call or come in to pick up an application. Applications will also be available at the Senior Center.
