Creating the "Zimbabwe - It takes a village" mural

These two provocative illustrations, come from one of Cheshire's residents that most might never encounter. Incarcerated at the Cheshire Correctional Institution, Inmate Michael Reddick, creates a complex web of emotion through his art. Reddick, one of the dozens of inmates, who participated in the 'Cheshire Reads' project, is an accomplished artist. Looking for different ways that inmates could participate in this community project, the librarian at the facility knew of Reddick's talents. The artist quickly went to work after finishing Mr. Tucker's book. Much talent lies behind these mortared walls. We invite you to view the complex imagery in both pieces. We are most pleased at the many ways this project has touched a variety of individuals scattered throughout this diverse community.
